A new online shop dedicated to selling handmade home goods opened November 1, 2018 – just in time for the holiday gift giving season. Duke & Lulu’s (dukeandlulus.com) was started by Joel and Alyse Knudsen in Canby, Oregon, as a venue for artisans and crafts people in the USA to bring their home goods products to market.

Joel and Alyse live a vegan lifestyle and wanted to ensure their business upheld their values, so Duke & Lulu’s carries only cruelty-free products (no animal products) and uses as much recycled and environmentally-friendly packing material as possible. “Being kind to animals and to the environment are important components to being a thoughtful consumer,” says Alyse Knudsen.

Having started their creative careers as furniture makers, Joel and Alyse value the time, effort and talent that craftspeople put into each product. “We opened Duke & Lulu’s in order to offer exceptional handmade products to customers who also appreciate and understand the value of handcrafted goods,” says Joel Knudsen.

Joel and Alyse scour the country to find and select makers and products, ensuring only the most unique, beautiful and well made objects make it into their shop. There are no mass produced items in the shop, so each piece may be a little different – but that’s the beauty of handcrafted goods. Duke & Lulu’s is a place where you can buy something nice for yourself that will make you feel good as well as purchase gifts for friends and family that will make them smile.

Products include, but are not limited to: Kitchenware (cutting boards, tableware, linens, bottle openers); Home decor (vases, planters, shelves, art prints), Bath (candles, bath salts); Desk accessories; Paper goods; And more. “D&L Exclusive” items, products only sold on dukeandlulus.com, are also available – many of the exclusive products are made by Joel. The shop’s inventory rotates frequently as many of the makers only produce small batches of products.
