50 million Americans are living and coping with Autoimmune disease (AD). AD disproportionately affects women. Of the 50 million Americans living and coping with ADs, more than 75 percent – some 30 million – are women.  AD is one of the top 10 leading causes of death of women under the age of 65. It encompasses more than 100 diseases, including type-1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, autoimmune hepatitis, Sjogren’s, Crohn’s disease, colitis, and lupus. It is responsible for more than $100 billion in direct health care costs annually.

Autoimmune diseases are caused by eating an inflammatory diet of meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cheese, milk and other dairy products, processed foods and sweetened beverages — in other words, animal-derived foods. All Autoimmune diseases are caused by inflammation. People are suffering needlessly when all they have to do is convert to an anti-inflammatory, plant-based diet that protects the body against Autoimmune disease, as well as cancer, heart disease and diabetes.
