Namaste on the river: 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel to host yoga retreat

1000 Islands Harbor Hotel

Taking a cue from Mother Nature, the AAA Four Diamond-rated 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel will welcome the start of spring with a Spring Fling Wellness Weekend designed to celebrate the renewal of the mind and body. Yogis (newbies and advanced) are invited to join Liz Price-Kellogg and Kristen Taylor, authors of For the Love of Food and Yoga: A Celebration of Mindful Eating and Being, April 22-24 for a weekend of yoga, meditation, cooking instruction paired with mindful eating practices and more.

All retreat guests will kick-off the weekend on April 22 with a signed copy of the best-selling book For the Love of Food and Yoga: A Celebration of Mindful Eating and Being, locally-sourced snacks, journals for reflecting on the weekend and coupons for local shops. Participants will get to know each other at a welcome dinner featuring original vegetarian, vegan or raw recipes from Price-Kellogg and Taylor’s book, and will have the chance to chat with the authors. Friday night will come to a close with a Full Moon Meditation overlooking the glorious St. Lawrence River.

Wake-Up Yoga on Saturday morning will have guests ready to tackle the day, followed by a wholesome breakfast. Throughout the day a selection of optional activities will be available to participants, including cooking demonstrations, reflection and journaling, spa treatments (for an additional $100), Mandala Painting with Christine Tisa, and a tour of Zenda Farms Preserve and the MacFarlane Trail (ideal for Instagram-worthy shots.) Lunch and dinner will be provided. The day comes to a close with live music, book signings and tea tastings by Finger Lakes Tea.

On Sunday morning, guests will reflect on the weekend with a Farewell Yoga session followed by breakfast. Before check-out guests can spend the afternoon designing their own St. Larry’s River Organic Wellness Products with therapeutic essential oils or enjoy a one-hour on-site spa service ($100.)

Priced at $376 for single occupancy and $519 for double occupancy, the weekend package includes two nights’ accommodations, an autographed copy of For the Love of Food and Yoga: A Celebration of Mindful Eating and Being, a personal journal, and all meals and activities (excluding spa services.) Rates based on triple and quad occupancy are also available. Guests can reserve their space by calling 315-686-1100 ext 7012.
