Maxine’s Heavenly makes vegan, gluten free, soy free, non-GMO cookies. They were born out of a passion to give mom’s recipes a nutritious overhaul while keeping the homemade taste.
While “healthy” cookies don’t sound like very much fun, we found these to have a very nice flavor and consistency without being too sugary or oily. The Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookie is probably the most decadent, and in fact it was just named Healthy Snack of the Year by TasteTV!
The cookies are great for people who are looking for snacks that are both healthy and delicious. The Cinnamon Oatmeal Raisin and Almond Chocolate Chip cookies make a nice breakfast snack with coffee, and we liked the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip for an afternoon pick me up.
Cookies are soft baked, and the base of each of the flavors are whole grain oats and flours, flaxseed, and other nutritious ingredients. They are sweetened with coconut sugar, which has a lower glycemic index than regular sugar.
