Souljourn Yoga Announces 2019 Retreat Lineup

Souljourn Yoga

Souljourn Yoga, a non-profit that arranges retreats and workshops to raise money for girls’ education around the world, announced today their lineup of journeys for the first half of 2019.

In each destination, Souljourn Yoga works with one “sister” non-profit, which receives a percentage of the retreats’ profits. In a beautiful attempt to build the bridge between donors and recipients, each retreat is spent meeting local women and girls in each community, practicing yoga with them, and exploring the country.

Souljourn Yoga’s 2019 Lineup Includes:

  • Mystical Morocco (February 16-23, 2019): Join Souljourn Yoga and Alma Retreats on a cinematic adventure to Morocco. During this eight-day/seven-night night journey, participants will explore the booming city of Marrakech, ride camels along the shore at Riad Rebali, hike the picturesque High Atlas Mountains at Kasbah Du Toubkal and more. Most importantly, participants will travel in support of Education for All Morocco, an NGO that provides secondary education and boarding houses to Berber girls from the High Atlas Mountains.
  • Prema Peru (May 24- June 2, 2019): Have your heart cracked wide open on this 10-day yoga adventure as participants explore the ancient lands of Peru from Cusco to Machu Picchu. Travelers will have the chance to meet the girls of the Sacred Valley Projectand experience firsthand how their support can make a real difference. From hiking, sweat lodging, glamping, yoga and even zip lining, this retreat will be one of a lifetime.
  • A Tribe Called Tibet (May 25 – June 1, 2019): Founder Jordan Ashley and London-based yoga teacher Sarah Malcolm will lead this special retreat: a week of yin and yang, movement, meditation, social change and life-altering adventures on the Tibetan Plateau. Expect moments of luxurious self-care, including soaking up the sauna, restorative spa treatments, and enjoying traditional cocktails and cuisines. The journey will end with a transformative day of volunteer work with the girls of Educating Girls of Rural China, a non-profit dedicated to providing high school and university educations to impoverished young women.
  • Yoga Adventure in Rwanda (June 25 – July 5, 2019): During this 11-day journey, participants will experience a full cultural immersion from a game drive in Akagera National Park and chimpanzee trekking in Nyungewe Forest National Park, to hiking in Volcanoes National Park and boat riding on Lake Kivu. Participants can give back to themselves while giving back to the girls of Komera, whose aim is to build self-confident young women through education, community and sports.

The adventures will continue as Souljourn Yoga gets ready to announce more retreats in 2019/2020 including Cambodia and South Africa.
