Vegan Recipe: Black Sesame and Cacao Smoothie

Swap your everyday green smoothie for a dramatic black sesame and cacao shake. Black sesame seeds are a powerhouse of nutrition and the high copper, vitamin B and E content send a shot of anti-aging assistance your way. Raw cacao, is called the “Food of the Gods” for good reason. This sacred plant boasts an incredibly high amount of flavonoids, which promote cardio vascular health, fights free radicals and the impressive amount of zinc and magnesium, help reduce tension and stress. So, it’s safe to say cacao delivers some serious mood balancing love to your day and combine that with antioxidant rich spices and the anti-inflammatory, skin friendly black sesame seed you are in for a nourishing treat.

Ingredients:

• 2 tablespoons raw cacao
• 2 tablespoons black tahini
• 1 very ripe banana
• Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
• Pinch of black pepper
• Pinch of cardamom
• 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
• 1 medjool date (optional)
• 1 cup of water

Method:

Throw all of the ingredients into a high speed blender until smooth and creamy.
